Services Bureau
Page Navigation

The Jefferson Township Police Department formed its Services Bureau in 1987.  It began with a focus on crime watch and school programs.  Today, because of the popularity and demand by the community for programming, the Services Bureau has expanded from one to four officers incorporating Traffic Safety, School Resource and Community Services/Crime Prevention/D.A.R.E.  See our links below.

The Services Bureau's Child ID/Fingerprinting program was introduced in 1989 and is still today one of the most requested programs.  In 1990, the department introduced the D.A.R.E. program to the schools and, to date, has trained over 4000 students.  Jefferson Township Police Department was the first department in the state to offer the DNA/Life Print Program to our school age children.

The Services Bureau officers are available for a wide variety of presentation topics and programs at all levels, including personal/stranger safety, traffic/bicycle safety, seat belt/car seat safety, alcohol & drug abuse and crime prevention.  All four of its officers also supplement the patrol division's bicycle patrol unit.  The Services Bureau also administers our Vial of Life Program.

The Services Bureau serves as the outlet for public information for the community.  Captain Eric Wilsusen serves as the Public Infomration Officer for the department.  Our most recent addition is an email notification service to notify our residents of important news and information.  Be sure to visit our link to register.

Additionally, the Services Bureau coordinates our Vacant Home and Special Needs Programs and is responsible for community and business relations.  Forms to register for these and other programs can be obtained from our Forms Center.
